General Questions

What does Pixels do?
We are asked this question on a regular basis. In short, Pixels goal is to provide web and graphic design services for businesses as well as individuals. This includes everything from designing and printing business cards and other stationary, to designing and constructing websites. How do you bill your clients and what methods of payment do you accept?
We accept Visa and MasterCard as well as Interac if you come in and pay for an invoice. All charges for services provided will be invoiced and can be paid by cheque. You may also fill out our application for credit, items such as monthly hosting and maintenance charges will then be billed at the end of each month and can be paid for by any of the above methods.

How much does it cost for a website?
The answer is simple and quite obvious: It depends. The cost of a website is dependanat on three main things:
  1. The complexity of the site - Is it simply text information with a few photos, or is it a more complex site involving secure pages and dynamic content?
  2. The size of the site - Will there be just a few pages with a simple one-tier navigation structure or will there be hundreds of pages, with a complex navigation structure?
  3. Timeline - Does the site need to be completed within a few weeks, or a few months?

How long will it take to build my website?
Many factors determine the period of time a project will take to finish. These factors include our current workload, size of site, and the complexity of the project. From our experience, the most significant factor that can delay a website's completion is a delay with the client collecting content. If the client takes a lot of time gathering content, approving milestones, or change requirements mid-way, the website will take longer to complete.
Do I have a say in what the website will look like?
When we meet with you, we'll discuss the objectives and goals of the site as well your preferences as to the design. We will suggest and recommend ideas that will ensure your design is functional, follows current industry trends, and is search engine friendly. We will present a few designs to you based on your preferences, and work with you to narrow in on the final solution. We will not build the actual web pages until you are satisfied with your design.
Is it really worth it to have a website?
Absolutely! Our research, as well as the research of many others, indicates that a website can be an extremely effective tool to get exposure about your company out to the public. Many people, before making a purchase or even visiting a business, search for the product or business on the internet. Having an online presence keeps your business exposed and credible. It is important, however, to keep in mind that although a website can be effective at providing useful information, a poorly built website can have damaging effects on your business image.
